Sheep Puzzle Pieces
How do you think the artist created this sheep?
Bible:
Sheep are mentioned in the Bible more than 500 times, more than any other animal. The Bible refers to God as our Shepherd, The Lord is my Shepherd...(Psalm 23:1), and His people as His sheep, My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27).
Objectives:
In this lesson you will create an artwork out of recycled materials.
Materials:
old puzzle pieces, paint, paint brushes, black crayons, scissors, glue, blue card stock, 2"x 2" white card stock, white glitter
Process:
- Draw a circle shape in the middle of a blue piece of card stock.
- Get enough puzzle pieces to cover your circle.
- Paint the puzzle pieces white. While the paint is wet, sprinkle white glitter on them. Let them dry.
- Glue all but one puzzle piece inside the circle. Save the one piece for the hair on your sheep's head.
- Draw an upper case "U" on white card stock for your sheep's head. Draw a line across the top of the "U" and extend the line past the sides of the "U". Curve the line back towards the "U" to form the ears. Cut it out.
- Use a black crayon to draw your sheep's eyes and nose. Glue the head on your sheep and glue the last puzzle piece on the top of the sheep's head.
- Use a black crayon to draw your sheep's legs and feet.
- Write the Bible verse, "My sheep listen to my voice" on your picture.
When you look at your sheep remember that God is your Shepherd and you are one of His sheep.
