Sight Specific Sketchbook
Bible:
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
Everyone is creative. Creativity is hardwired into our DNA by God himself. All of us were made to be creative people. Creative juices run hot through our veins. In this project you will be applying your creativity and what you have learned thus far.
Objectives:
You will apply your God given creativity and what you have learned thus far to create a site specific idea development booklet based on your own personal artistic ideas.
Materials:
paper, pencil, eraser, pen, markers, colored pencils, booklet
Process:
- Look around the school for areas in need of art. Make a list of at least 3. Explore, research, and think about what type of art is needed. You may want to consider how you can relate your art to Christ? How can you promote learning with art? Community? Friendship? Is artwork needed in the halls? The science lab? The playground? The music room? Write down your ideas and make a few sketches.
- Break into groups of 3 or 4 and share your ideas and critique each other's work.
- Choose your favorite idea.
- Use your idea to develop a 20 page booklet of ideas. Be inspired to think creatively! You may use pencil, pen, markers, colored pencils, collage, drawing over print outs, photos, maps, etc.
- Share your completed booklet with the class.
- Break into groups of 2 or 3. Use the evaluation form to evaluate each others booklets. Discuss your evaluations. Be honest but kind.
- Write 4 sentences on an index card explaining what you learned by doing this project.
