NJAHS is to inspire and recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in art. FBCS started its chapter of National Junior Art Honor Society during the 2012-2013 school year.
To Become a Member students must submit an application paragraph explaining why they want to be part of FBCS NJAHS. Once an application is received FBCS staff/teachers will confidentially fill out student recommendations. Further requirements are listed within the Chapter Bylaws.
Chapter Bylaws
Section 1. Members must pay dues and complete 3 service hours in the visual arts each year.
Section 2. Annual dues of $5 will be collected from each member.
Section 3. Attendance is required at meetings to maintain membership and privileges. If tardy more than 2 times or absent more than 2 times student will be dismissed from NJAHS. There are some exceptions to this rule and each tardy/absence will be dealt with individually.
Section 4. All members must participate in 80% of our projects, activities, and fundraisers.
Section 5. NJAHS officers are required to attend executive meetings called outside of the regularly scheduled meetings. Exceptions will be dealt with individually.
Section 6. Members must retain an A/B average in Art Class.
Section 7. Members must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative average in all other subjects.
Section 8. Members may remain active during such time when there are no visual arts on their class schedules as long as they fulfill all of the other requirements each year.
Section 9. Students must adhere to procedures and rules listed within the FBCS Student Parent Handbook.
Section 10. In the event of an infraction of rules, a review by the officers and sponsors will be conducted. If the individual in question is an officer, he/she will not participate in the decision-making process. This applies to all community laws as well as school and chapter.
Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month in the Art Room - 2:40-3:30
